When Mattia Flabiano (Mike) started installing terrazzo in 1931, he was establishing more than a business. It was the beginning of a tradition of service and craftsmanship that has earned American Terrazzo Company the respect of a long, loyal roster of clients.
Mattia Flabiano was a stickler for detail who liked to follow every job from the first stroke to the finishing touch. So it's only natural that his company should expand its capabilities over the years, becoming one of the foremost terrazzo companies in the United States.
Mattia Flabiano's sons, Luighi (Tony) and Mattia Jr., learned the pride and commitment of installing terrazzo flooring from their father and passed this tradition on to their sons. Today, Tony and the third generation of Flabianos continue the family tradition. Tony's son, Wilton, and Mattia Jr.'s sons, Brent, Darin and Brandon, have embraced the almost 80-year-old craftsmanship, commitment to excellence and professionalism that was started by their grandfather.
American Terrazzo Company prides itself on the ability to perform on any terrazzo installation - from the simplest to the most complex, whether it's a small patch to an old floor or completing the award-winning and largest job in the United States at DFW Airport, Terminal D - 600,000 square feet. Their workmanship and commitment to clients is as reliable today as when the company was founded and has allowed the company to continue as a dominant force in this construction art form.
Our Installation Department consists of a cadre of highly skilled and experienced artisans, some of who have been with the company for decades. Our installation employees are overseen directly by the Flabianos whose experience and expertise allow the company to complete jobs safely, accurately, on time and on budget.
As times have changed, so has American Terrazzo Company. Safety in the workplace has become an issue of primary importance and the health and well-being of our employees is something we take very seriously. American Terrazzo has a full-time Safety Director who conducts Site Inspections, Safety Orientations, monitors our Assured Grounding Program, conducts Tool Box Talks and Hazard Communication. In addition he inspects tools and equipment to be sure guards are in place and that all electrical tools and equipment are safe to use. And finally the Safety Director maintains a file of all MSDS sheets for the chemicals used in our business and keeps records required by OSHA.
Our Estimating and Design Department can accurately quote the cost of your job, discuss options and work with owners, contractors, and architects to help select the perfect materials, colors, and design available for your important job.
